In a story recently reported by Dark Reading, Crowdstrike researchers found that device code phishing and voice phishing (vishing) attacks have more than doubled as cybercriminals increasingly combine phone calls with mobile authentication workflows to trick users into approving fraudulent device authentication requests, enabling corporate network access. The growing use of these social engineering tactics highlights the need for phishing-resistant authentication, user awareness, and mobile threat detection to defend against account compromise.
