Recent findings confirm that the Android Trojan Triada, often pre-installed on counterfeit or fake smartphones, still poses a serious threat. Once active, Triada can give attackers full control of the device, access to credentials, banking or communication apps, and even enroll the device in a botnet. This underlines the danger of purchasing or using devices from untrusted sources, and the importance of verifying device integrity, using only official firmware, and applying strict mobile-security policies.
