Zimperium Appoints Shridhar Mittal As New CEO And Zuk Avraham As Chairman

Zimperium continues rapid growth in billion-dollar mobile security space with expansion of executive team

SAN FRANCISCO – October 23, 2014 – Zimperium, the leader in mobile threat defense, today announced it appointed Shridhar Mittal as the company’s new CEO. Zuk Avraham, founder, will assume the role of chairman and CTO, and will continue to drive the organization’s technical vision.

Shridhar joins Zimperium from CA Technologies, where he served as general manager of the Application Delivery business unit. Shridhar positioned CA Technologies as a leader in the high-growth space and led the successful acquisition of Nolio, an Israel-based company focused on Continuous Delivery (a practice used to automate and improve software delivery). Shridhar came to CA Technologies with the successful $330 million acquisition of ITKO, where he served as CEO. ITKO is a leading provider of service simulation solutions for developing applications in composite and cloud environments.

“I’m excited to welcome Shridhar to the Zimperium team,” said Zuk Avraham. “Shridhar’s extensive experience in both early-stage and established organizations will benefit the company and ensure its continued success. Shridhar has a proven track record of developing global ecosystems with leading global system integrators, as well as driving successful acquisitions. He possesses the leadership to position the company for its next stage of growth.”

According to Infonetics Research, the mobile device security market grew 40 percent to cross the billion-dollar mark in 2013, and it is expected to grow to $3.4 billion in 2018. Enterprises are increasingly realizing that existing mobile security management and mobile device management providers don’t provide protection against advanced known and unknown threats. The addition of Shridhar, an established executive with a history of leading high-growth enterprise organizations, will enable Zimperium to expand its leadership position in the mobile security market, and emerge as the undisputed leader in mobile threat defense.

“I’m extremely excited to join Zimperium, an innovator in the growing mobile security market. With hundreds of thousands of users around the world, Zimperium is filling a fundamental security gap in the fragmented mobile security market,” said Shridhar Mittal. “With the recent release of Zimperium Mobile Threat Defense, Zimperium solves the unique challenges posed by mobile devices. Zimperium Mobile Threat Defense integrates with leading mobile device management (MDM) solutions and detects known and unknown threats on iOS and Android devices, without reliance on the cloud, introducing latency or draining the battery. It’s exciting to be part of a company that is developing truly innovative solutions and setting the pace in mobile threat defense.”

Throughout his career, Shridhar has held a wide variety of leadership roles spanning pre-sales, sales and marketing. Shridhar is an active board member of the DFW chapter of Pratham, a non-profit organization that focuses on providing education opportunities to underprivileged children and adults in India. Shridhar holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, an MS from SUNY Buffalo, as well as a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering.
